The rise of sports-biopics like M.S.Dhoni, Sulatan and Dangal were few of the highest blockbusters in 2016 and these movies have made sure that they are a great story to be filmed for the audience. And now Aishwarya R. Dhanush is giving the South Indian audience a sports-biopic by directing the first Tamil Sports-biopic ‘Mariyappan’. Mariyappan is a paralympian who had won a historic gold for India in high jump in T-42 category at the 2016 Rio Summer Paralympics.

The movie is to be filmed in Tamil and English and the first look of the film was shared by her dear friend Shah Rukh Khan on January 1. The Goodwill Ambassador Aishwarya has kickstarted the year with Mariyappan’s first look and a number of people have appreciated Aishwarya for her initiative and the first look came as a total surprise to everyone. It was also Aishwarya’s birthday on January 1 and we are sure her social media handles would be flooded with wishes!
