After Janhvi Kapoor, It’s Sridevi’s Younger Daughter’s Turn!

Acting runs in the family clearly!

Janhvi Kapoor, the elder daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, recently made her acting debut in the Hindi film Dhadak. While the reception towards the film are mostly mixed, that hasn’t stopped Janhvi from pursuing acting further. Now, her younger sister, Khushi, is also likely to debut in cinema soon.

According to unconfirmed sources, Khushi, too, has dreams of becoming an actress and given that her family is a family of actors, producers, and filmmakers, Khushi’s inclination towards the field isn’t surprising. Her father, Boney, has previously told the media that she will do so once she completes her studies.

Once done, Khushi will be joining her sister Janhvi, half-brother Arjun Kapoor, cousins Sonam, Harshvardhan, and uncles Anil and Sanjay Kapoor.

While Sridevi, before her death, had been vocal about Janhvi’s acting dreams, she had never spoken about Khushi’s interests in the field. Sridevi died on February 24 around 11 PM UAE time at a hotel room in Dubai. Accompanied by her Boney and Khushi, Sridevi was in Dubai for a family wedding when she died. It is said that she went into the hotel bathroom, and when she did not come back on time, a worried Boney Kapoor entered the bathroom with the hotel staff, where he found his wife unconscious. Sridevi was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her death has been ruled as a case of accidental drowning.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Janhvi said that while playing the character of Parthavi in Dhadak, she tried to emulate her sister. “I would see Khushi and draw parallels in my mind. There were things which are similar. Khushi is very sensitive but not very expressive. She is a little pricey as a person. She can be a little bit of a bully. But, there’s strength and resilience in my sister that is magnanimous but it is silent. There are only a few things that make her cry. When she loves, she loves deeply and there is a very deep sense of loyalty. That was another parallel I saw in Khushi and the character I am playing. They act like they don’t care. I think my sister is like that and I saw the similarity in the character I played onscreen,” she said.
