Actress Trisha Krishnan tests positive for COVID-19!

Trisha, one of the most popular and established actors from the South film industry has recently been contracted with the novel coronavirus.  The actor took to her social media profile via her Instagram story on January 7, 2022 to reveal that she has been tested positive a little before 1st January 2022 in an unknown location to celebrate the New Year. She added she had a harrowing week with all symptoms but is recovering and will be back home soon.

Her story read, “Despite taking all the precautions and safety measures, I tested positive just a little before the New Year. You name the symptoms, I had it! Even tho it was one of my most harrowing weeks, I am recovering and feel better today, thanks to my vaccinations. I request everyone to do the same and mask up. Hoping to clear my tests and fly back home soon. My heartfelt thanks to the best family and friends I have and for all the prayers (sic).”



Trisha was reportedly shooting for her debut web series, Brinda from where she flied to celebrate the New Year. Unfortunately, that is where she tested positive and is currently in quarantine until she tests negative and flies back home.

Brinda, is a Telugu web series directed by Surya Vangala that will stream on Sony Liv. The show was launched on October last year with a special pooja and is likely to release this year. The actor even recently completed 19 years in the cinema industry. She started her career as a supporting character in 1999 in Jodi, has acted in more than 60 films in these 19 years. She played the lead in Mounam Pesiyadhe in 2002 for the first time.

After starring in Tamil and Telugu movies for almost 10 years, she had her Bollywood debut in 2010 with Priyadarshan’s Khatta Meetha, where she acted alongside Akshay Kumar.  She has acted in a number of women-lead films including, Raangi, Paramapadham Vilaiyaatu, etc. She is known for her peformances in movies like Ghilli, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya and 96.

Trisha is currently working on a number of projects including Mani Ratnam’s magnam opus, Ponniyin Selvan. She is awaiting the release of Garjanai, Sathuranga Vettai 2 and Raangi and is also working on a Malayalam film Ram.
