Actress N Dhanya (also know as Rafia Banu) has been receiving death threats lately with respect to her upcoming film. Between May 14 and 16, the actress received various phone calls from a man who used abusive words and threatened to kill her.

According to her, the caller kept asking her how she could act nude in her film 18-05-2009. The first call came at 1:15 AM on May 14 and the next one was at 5 AM on May 16. She has since submitted a complaint with the cyber crime police department.

Currently a resident of Vadapalani in Chennai, Dhanya is best known for playing Isaipriya in the film Porkalathil Oru Poo. The film has been banned in India for its sensitive topic as it is the story is based on the real life of Isaipriya, a television journalist raped and murdered by members of the Sri Lankan army during the final stages of the Sri Lankan Civil War. The film has music composed by Ilaiyaraaja and is directed by K Ganeshan. Incidentally, 18-05-2009 is also about LTTE.
