Actor Prithviraj Expresses Solidarity To His Friend And Actress Who Was Molested!

Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran took to social media to express his grief and solidarity to his close friend and Malayalam actress who was molested and threatened in a moving car. Here is a strong open letter he wrote which made us all nod in agreement:

Apart from Prithviraj, many from the film fraternity like Dulquer Salmaan and Mohanlal raised their voices against the issue and offered moral support to Actress Bhavana. Have a look at what they had to say:

Mollywood superstar Manju Warrier had the perfect message for the situation. Have a read:

Manju in her post said,”The incident is absolutely horrific and beyond imagination. But she was bold and we were the ones who were shattered. Those responsible for the attack had perverted mindset and culture. She is my closest friend and I went and I met her last evening. I feel proud that she has shown the courage to move forward under such difficult circumstances. My prayer is that such a thing should never happen to any woman. I want to also say that in the film industry, we have so many drivers and technicians who drop us safely to our homes. We cannot ignore their sincerity. Having said this, I want to emphasize that in this case there has been a case of criminal conspiracy. Those who are behind this and guilty should be punished and dealt with so that it does not happen to any woman in our society. The mindset that men are the hunters and women are prey must be eradicated.”

“The state has always respected its women and there has always been gender equality. But, what happened is just shocking. Men and women must learn to respect each other. We always take to social media when an incident like this occurs and move ahead after a few days. But, from now on this must not happen. Let us all protest and raise our voices against any such incidents starting with this and I will stay in the very front of it.”

Such cases are becoming more common over the years and nothing seems to decrease. What we need is a change in the mind set of the Society and not more safety precautions and protection.
