Actor and comedian Karthik Kumar, who is known for his roles of America-Return ‘Mappillai’ (groom), recently became a groom in real life as he tied the knot with ‘Kallachirippu’ fame Amrutha Srinivasan. While there were no speculations or news about their wedding, photos from their wedding ceremony has brought mixed emotions of surprise and happiness from Tamil movie fans.

The couple tied the knot at a private ceremony amidst close friends and family. Photos of the wedding were initially shared with ‘Best wishes’ greetings from friends like Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Badhri Seshadri and Vinodhini Vaidyanathan and SA Aravind.

Karthik and Amrutha also took to their personal social media pages to write about each other. In the most romantic way, Karthik had written a poem on his Instagram along with a photo to convey his love for her.

Speculations are that the two fell in love while working together in this untitled project featuring Bhagyaraj and Urvashi in lead roles. Karthik was previously married to singer Suchitra. The two separated on personal issues. He is known for his roles in movies like ‘Kanda Naal Mudhal’, ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’, etc.
