Acting With Karthi Is Easier Than Acting With Suriya: Throwback To When Jyothika Chose!

Jyothika has continued her tremendous comeback success this past year with a catalog of big releases that has seen her receive great commercial and critical success, not out of the norm for the A-lister. In 2019, she starred in 3 movies; the well receivedRaatchasi, for which she won the BehindwoodsGold Medal Award for Best Actor in Lead Role(Female), the comedy Jackpot that she starred in alongside veteran actress Revathy, and her most recent release, Thambi, where she shared the screen with brother-in-law Karthi. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Thambi has been a success at the box office, with much praise going to the effective sibling dynamic between them.

In a recent interaction with the media, Jyothika revealed the difference between sharing the screen with Karthi and her husband Surya.
“Acting with Suriya is difficult as we often fight with each other just like most of the couple. But working and sharing screen space with Karthi was smooth,” said Jyothika.

Karthi is not the only family Jyothika has in the movie; Suraj, her brother, is a producer for the film. “Though there are many characters in the film, my role has the scope to perform. To be honest, I haven’t spent quality time with my real-life brother as my acting career started when I was 17. Only on the sets of ‘Thambi’, I spent time with my brother Suraj who is also the producer of the film,” she adds.

Jyothika will next be on screen in Ponmagal Vanthal, co-starring K Bhagyaraj, R Parthiban, Pandiarajan, and Pratap Pothen. The film will be directed by debutante JJ Fredrick and will be produced by Surya under the banner of 2D entertainment.
