A media house called it a “flop” and specifically pointed out that that was the reason for Samantha being replaced:

Hydari was not pleased with this and instantly took to social media in support of Samantha. She posted. “I genuinely feel this is important to say… a hit or flop cannot take away the credibility of an actor. Pl, Let’s not encourage this kind of thinking. Secondly, let’s give a director/producer the respect to make their announcements in the way that they deem fit. Thank you”.

Prem Kumar, who directed the original had directed the Telugu remake as well. Sharwanand had shared the screen space with Samantha as the male lead.
Samantha has been quite outspoken on social media. From addressing online trolls to calling out those who slut-shame her for wearing what she loves, Samantha has made sure nobody demeans her for her choice.
On the professional front, Samantha Akkineni has signed some terrific films this year in Kollywood. One is touted to be directed by the Game over director Ashwin Saravanan also starring Prasanna in a pivotal role. Apart from that, she is also a part of Vignesh Shivan’s next Kaathuvaakkula Rendu Kaadhal starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
On the other hand, Aditi Rao Hydari has had yet another successful film in Kollywood with director Mysskin, Udayanidhi Stalin and Nithya Menen. She will soon be seen starring in Maha Samudram also starring Sharwanand.
