’96’: This Trisha & Vijay Sethupathi Film Gets A New Release Date!

Check it out!

Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi’s highly anticipated film is all set for an October 4th release. The film was slated for a September release first.

The trailer of ’96’ starring Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathi was out few weeks ago, and it is breezy and oh-so-romantic! The trailer begins with Trisha and Vijay who play Jaanu and Ram, two school sweethearts who reunite after years. While their love didn’t take off when they were in school, years later as adults, they rekindle their romance one night after a school reunion. They pick up from where they left off and the chemistry between them is eclectic.

The music is just as breezy as their romance, with the background score being the popular ‘Kadhaale Kadhaale’ which was released a few weeks ago. The music composer is Govind Menon, who has worked in several Malayalam and Tamil projects including Premam.

Directed by Prem Kumar, who was earlier the cinematographer of Vijay Sethupathi’s Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom, the flick will be produced by Nandagopal. It is reported that Vijay Sethupathi will also sport the role of a 96-year-old man. However, what we are more intrigued about is the love story that will be weaved from this rather interesting combination.

On the work front, Trisha was last seen in the horror-comedy Mohini. She has a slew of projects in the pipeline including Garjanai – the Tamil remake of the Hindi film NH10Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Arvind Swami.

For Vijay Sethupathi, the actor has Super Deluxe, Junga, Seethakathi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Idam Porul Yaeval, and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam with Mani Ratnam.
