 This one produced by the maestro of Romance, Mani Ratnam himself is a must watch. The lead pair is Madhavan and Jyothika, need we say more? It is cute, romantic and adorable. Two young people of a small town with big dreams are pushed into marriage by their fathers, who are close friends. How do they stop this marriage? Do they end up together? How do they fall in love? All these questions are answered with beautiful scenes and screenplay. Azhagan Perumal’s treatment of the story is amazing. An added bonus is the Songs and BGM of the film. Music by Karthik Raja is bliss.

 Although a story about college life, the film has four love stories, each with its own twist and turns. It definitely brings back college memories and all those different kinds of couples we have seen and sometimes been. The film is a musical treat for anyone. Happiness, anger, ego, friendship and love. Every emotion of young adult is perfectly captured and the cast is so refreshing. This is a kind of film you should watch during that unexpected holiday in the middle of the week to feel refreshed.

 

  1. Kanda Naal Mudhal

 This is the typical hate turns to love movie. If you love that kind, it would be surprising if you haven’t watched this film. Karthik Kumar who plays Prasanna’s friend and Laila’s fiancé in the movie keeps on yapping about chemistry. The film shows why chemistry is important in love. Although the friendship between the lead pair starts with a fight, they realise how great they are together and fall for each other. Every single character in the movie is loveable. In addition, you get to see Regina and Andrea doing small roles as young girls. Music is again incredible in the movie.

 This one directly comes from the king of Romance. Written by Kamal Haasan, this one is perfect Rom-Com. Madhavan plays a young chef from Palakaad stuck in Australia to clear his debts. Geetu Mohandas, the cute kid from Fazil’s En Boomukutty Ammavuku helps our hero out by marrying him for citizenship. However, a marriage of convenience soon blossoms into a beautiful love story. With challenges from ex-fiancé and immigration people following them, would the happy couple get a happily ever after forms the crux of the story. Kamal plays a cameo and there is a nice English song sung by the actor that will surely grab our attention.

 

  1. Kandukondain Kandukondain

It is an adaption from Jane Austen’s novel Sense and Sensibility. You might be familiar with an English movie of the same name where Kate Winslet played the role of the younger sister, which was done by Aishwarya Rai in Tamil. The film has a stellar cast that includes, Mamooty, Tabu, Appas and Ajith. Music is by A.R.Rahman and each song is a must add to your playlist. Directed by ace cameraman Rajiv Menon the movie is a treat to watch for every romance lover.
