Birthday Special: 5 Reasons Why We Love Anushka Shetty As Warrior Princess Devasena!

She is fierce!

Feminism is trying to change the way the world looks at women and cinema plays a major role in this. Films are a great attraction to the youth and one that teaches to respect women spreads a good message of equality amongst the mass. Films need not necessarily be heroine-centric to prove how well an actress can act. If an equal amount of role is given to an actress as much as an actor, that is good enough for the movie to win laurels. Anushka Shetty is one of those actresses who can pull off an entire heroine-centric movie all by herself (read: Arundhathi and Rudrammadevi). However, shining bright amidst a star cast of major heroes like Rana Daggubati and Prabhas isn’t something every actress can do.

Her role as warrior princess Devasena has truly won our hearts now. She was not a vulnerable, royal princess who loves money. She was the warrior who would do anything to protect her people and her dignity.

Here are 5 other reasons why we totally love and look up to warrior princess Devasena:

1. When she retorts about buying her with money: When Bhallaladeva talks to Sivagami about his liking for Devasena, Rajamata sends tons of gold, diamond, and jewelry of other valuable stones. However, that is not the end of it. Lots of gold coins, sarees, and other valuables are sent to Devasena as a gift for a marriage proposal. Devasena gives her piece of mind to the Minister of Maahishmati saying that there is not a chance in the world that even the biggest of the empire could buy her heart, dignity, and love with materials and money. She orders them to take all of this back and tell the Queen that she will not accept this wedding.
