Married to a psychopath, Sridevi displayed the emotions a woman would go through in such a situation. This psychological  thriller directed by Barathiraja starring Kamal Haasan was a mega hit and loosely inspired by Raman Raghav. Kamal preys on young girls and tortures and kills them. He meets Sridevi and marries her. The films revolves around Sridevi stumbling upon clues that tell her Kamal is a psychopath who kills women. How she manages to escape from the house forms the rest of the story. One of Sridevi’s best performances, this film is a milestone in Sridevi’s career.

Portraying the role of a singer, Sridevi made the audience fall in love with her. She played the role of a polite and respectable person. She falls in love with a conman running from the police, played by Rajinikanth. Sridevi is known for playing emotional characters well and this film is one such example. The movie was one biggest blockbuster’s of Tamil cinema.

Sridevi played a movie star in the film and there is particular audition scene in the film which perfectly sums up Sridevi’s talents. The director asks her to smile and Sridevi gives us the most beautiful smile of hers and when asked to cry she changes her expressions gradually and makes our throat well up. The movie revolves around a heroine’s life and how her uncle exploits her success. The film too is one of Sridevi’s most memorable performances.
