5 Indian Celebrities Who Opted For Kids Through Surrogacy!

Karan Johar made a surprise announcement that he’s now a father to twins born through surrogacy. The popular filmmaker kept it a secret and shared a heartfelt message about the arrival of his newborns. Karan Johar is not the first celebrity to have chosen this route. Many celebrities are choosing surrogacy as an option for have their biological children. IVF has been the most trusted choice of these celebs in the past decade. Though it’s quite common in the United States, only a handful of the Bollywood celebrities have joined the bandwagon.

Some of the stars marry later in their career and biological clock ticks and ticks away. Choosing to have children in your 40s can be stressful to many parents, though it’s not impossible. Surrogacy came in as a savior such couples.

 

Shah Rukh Khan- Gauri Khan

 

 

The ‘trend’ started with none other than Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. SRK and wife Gauri stunned the industry when they revealed that they had their third child AbRam through surrogacy. The news was welcomed by his fans and admirers. However, the identity of the surrogate mother has been kept under wraps. Many rumors came to light about the mystery surrogate mother. SRK and Co chose to keep mum and with time, AbRam has become the star of the family. Reports also suggested that Gauri Khan did not want to go through the painful experience of ‘delivering’ a baby and chose to use a surrogate.Well, we don’t know how true is that!

Aamir Khan- Kiran Rao

 

Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan divorced his first wife Reena and married Kiran Rao, one of the Assistant Directors of Lagaan. Aamir and Reena have two children together Ira and Junaid. However, after trying for a few years, Kiran Rao and Aamir were told they couldn’t bear a child. Post the reveal,  the couple chose surrogacy to have their gorgeous toddler Azad Rao Khan.

Sohail Khan-Seema Khan

 

 

Salman Khan’s younger brother Sohail Khan and his wife Seema had their first baby Nirvaan in the year 2000. Post 2010, they decided to expand their family and chose surrogacy. Reports suggest, Seema tried for a second child and failed. Hence, they opted for the procedure and their second son Yohan Khan was born in 2011.

Tusshar Kapoor

 

 

Jumping Jack Jeetendra finally became a grandfather after his son Tusshar Kapoor opted to have a baby through surrogacy. Tusshar is a single father and chose to not marry (yet). He named his son ‘Laskhya’ and many reports say that the Kapoor family is quite elated at the arrival of their bundle of joy. Tusshar’s elder sister is Ekta Kapoor, who has also chosen to stay single until now. Tusshar is one of the only few single fathers in the industry.
