Anushka Shetty has proved that she is more than just a pretty face and has made a big name for herself in the South film industry. Skyrocketing after her debut in Puri Jagannath’s Super in 2005, there was no turning back for her. Her 2015 movie, Baahubali: The Beginning shot her to fame. She was seen in a never seen before avatar and also played a double role in it. There were rumours on about her making her Bollywood debut by teaming up with Karan Johar but we are yet to see her enter Bollywood. Today take a look at the movies rejected by the actress.

Ponniyin Selvan

 

 

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming project Ponniyin Selvan was one project. Anushka was the most anticipated star in the film. However, Anushka had this film down which then went to Nayanthara who turned down the film after signing it and it is now finally in the hands of Trisha.

Kochadaiyaan

 

 

The Rajinikanth starrer directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth was the first motion picture Kollywood film. However, Deepika Padukone was not the first choice, it was Anushka Shetty who was approached for the film. However, she turned this film down due to prior commitments after which Deepika Padukone was approached for the film.

Asuran’s Telugu Remake

 

 

After Shriya Saran was rejected for the role, Anushka Shetty was approached for the film. However, the Bahubali actress had her dates closely packed for her upcoming film Nishabdham and she then had to turn it down. The film titled Naarrappa is now looking at casting Priyamani opposite Venkatesh Daggubati.

Arundhati 2

 

 

Anushka Shetty’s Asuran was the most loved and people lauded how the actress effortlessly carried an entire film on her shoulders and made it into a blockbuster hit. Rumours were rife that the sequel of Arundhati is soon to happen. However, Anushka has turned down the film as she has decided to take a break after Nishabdham to concentrate on her health furthers. Actress Payal Rajput is said to don the lead role in Arundhati 2.
