Talking about her experience in an interview with TOI, Amy Jackson said, “It was my very first experience of India. I’ve never stepped out of Europe before. It was 10 years ago and so much has gone on since then, but Madrasapattinam holds the biggest space in my heart. It changed my life forever. I got a call from my agent, saying a director from India wants to meet with you. I said, ‘I’m not an actress, I can’t act’. He said that they had a character, and they wanted me to act out a few scenes. But I was still skeptical. Nevertheless, I went, read the story and it was incredible. It really resonated with me. And Vijay, as a person, was very warm. He showed me the ropes. The whole Madrasapattinam team – it was like a family.”
She also talked about her first costar. “He is my first co-star. He was so patient and was okay with doing extra takes. He would ask me to try scenes differently,” Amy stated.
She concluded the interview by stating that it was a blessing she found the team of the film and the warm people.
