Raayan, an action-thriller film, is written and directed by Dhanush. Raayan is Dhanush’s second directional film, following the success of Pa. Pandi. However, Raayan differs from Pa. Pandi, as it explores a completely contrasting genre. The film’s crew has been creating a lot of buzz by announcing the star-studded cast, which includes Selvaragavan, S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Kalidas Jayaram, and Sundeep Kishan. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran, under Sun Pictures, with A. R. Rahman as the music director.
Director and actor, Dhanush, recently took to his Twitter handle to announce the addition of two more actresses, Aparna Balamurali and Dushara Vijayan, to the cast of Raayan with similar black and white photos he’d used to reveal the other cast members of the film.

His previous directional film, Pa. Pandi revolves around the story of Pandi, a retired stuntman, who has an argument and leaves home to find his long-lost love, Poothendral. He finds Poonthendral and their buried feelings resurfaces. Poonthendral resolves the conflict between Pandi and his son and later reunites with Pandi with a message that love has no age.
