It is impossible to even fathom the loss of someone as legendary as actor Vivek. A humble human being, a social activist and a versatile actor. At 4:35 AM on the actor was pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest and the film industry rushed to pay their respects to the actor’s mortal remains. Vivek has not just touched the hearts of his fans but of several youngsters going by the principles of his Master and the late President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The entire Indian film industry mourned the loss of a stellar actor like Vivek and expressed their grievances. But, to him only one thing mattered, to take his Green Kalam initiative further ahead. He loved trees and plants – he simply had the most tender heart for them.

Keeping that in mind, Vivek’s family took the liberty of taking his ashes and with the use of it (as a fertiliser), planted several saplings in the burial ground. Vivek’s relatives conducted a puja in Perungotoor, his ancestral village and his ashes were then used to plant saplings. After being cremated at the Virugambakkam crematorium amidst his family members and fans, his ashes were sent to his ancestral village Perungotoor near Madurai.
