I have always wondered as to why someone would call a woman his better half? Why be better or why be less when we can be equal? Gender is a social construct and that is not known to most. When I was a child, my mother used to always tell me that my dad works really hard every day and that’s why none of us are supposed to upset or make him angry as it will spoil his only time of relaxation. However, why weren’t we told that my mother works equally hard to transform a house into a home? The contribution of the father is as much as the contribution of the mother.

No woman wants any empathy when she manages to balance both work and household; all she wants is an equal share of giving and taking; an equal sharing of love and affection. An equal importance and the equal rights -nothing more and nothing less. As much as we are capable of gorging on food much more than people think we do, we also have the capability to pay the bill for ourselves and our loved ones. We are capable of being the breadwinner and the head of our family. When women fight for their rights in every field, it is mandatory to understand that equality is what it means. Continued…
