“Can’t Work With Male Chauvinists.”: Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Walks Out Of A Movie Set!

I didn’t like the producers!

Kollywood actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has walked out of her Malayalam film ‘Aakasha Mittaayee’ and the reason is that the film’s producers were not behaving well. Varalaxmi told reporters on the sidelines of IIFA Utsavam that the way things were handled on the film sets was “crass.” She told IANS: “I don’t want to comment on the issue. I just didn’t get along with the producers.

The way they were handling things was very crass.” Aakasha Mittayee, directed by Samuthirakani, is the remake of last year’s Tamil super hit ‘Appa’. Earlier, Varalaxmi tweeted she’s walking out of the film saying she “Can’t work with male chauvinists and mannerless producers.”

She took it to social media saying, “Thnk u to Samuthirakani sir n Jayaram sir for having supported my decision.. can’t work wid male chauvinists n mannerless producers..”

Varalaxmi had earlier opened up about the casting couch situation she earlier faced and how objectifying women is very much existing. In her open letter to the casting couch, she said, “Stop disrespecting women or get out!”

Varalaxmi was last seen in the movie ‘Tharai Thappattai’ alongside Sasikumar and directed by ‘Pithamagan’ fame Bala.
