Tragedy: 16-Year-Old Boy Electrocuted During Jallikattu Protest!

As Tamil Nadu witnesses protests across the state on Supreme court’s ban on Jallikattu, many protesters are thronging to Chennai’s Marina beach and are protesting peacefully. However, some groups have indulged in extreme protests like rail roko in Salem. Unfortunately a 16-year-old teenager is battling for life after being electrocuted and suffering 80% burns. According to a post shared by Piyush Manush, an activist and entrepreneur, Lokesh fell from the train after being electrocuted.

He urged everyone to pray for his recovery and looks like the peacful protests are steadily turning tragic. Here’s an account of the story Piyush shared:

Chennai and many parts of TN have come to a standstill even as CM O. Paneer Selvam annnouced this morning that an ordinance is ready to be passed. He requested the protesters to withdraw the protest, however, the scenes in the state stay consistent with none of them backing down.
