Trisha’s 2018!

 

It’s just been two weeks into the year and already Trisha’s calendars are full. With a strong lineup that contains films of all genre, this South Indian belle is down and busy with several projects and her call sheets are booked to the brim. Take a look at what’s upcoming from this diva’s kitty:

 

  1. Mohini

The first look of Mohini is out already and it looks promising! This horror flick contains supernatural elements and is sure to be a story to behold! The story revolves around a maleficent spirit that is out with a vengeance and cannot be stopped just like the heroine who is portraying it. Directed by Raman Madhesh or Arsangam fame, the movie also stars Jacky Bhagnani on his Tamil debut. The film is set t be in London and the release date will be announced soon.

 

2. Hey Jude

A light-hearted romantic drama film, ‘Hey Jude’ is all set to rock the screen with Trisha in the female lead and Nivin Pauly in the male lead. Director Shyamaprasad says the two leads are oddballs with Nivin playing Jude, who is a peculiar character and is at odds with the world around him. Also, Trisha’s character Crystal, lives in Goa, and like Jude, is a bit of an oddball herself. The movie is about the interesting situations that happen because of their relationship, and how love and understanding transform Jude’s life. Almost 3/4th of the movie is set in Goa with some parts in Kochi. Mukesh, Pratap Pothen, and Neena Kurup are part of the supporting cast. After Jessie, this is the second time we hope to see the Mallu side of Trisha!

3. 96

After a spectacular pooja, 96 went on floors and shooting began for this romantic drama film with Vijay Sethupathy and Trisha in the lead. We are all excited to see these two as a couple with such promising performance potential! The film is written and directed by Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha fame C Prem Kumar and produced by Nandagopal of Madras Enterprises. Govind Menon has composed music, with cinematography by N. Shanmuga Sundaram and editing by R. Govindaraj. Makkal Selvan dons a new role as a travel-photographer in this romantic flick.

 

4. Sathuranga Vettai 2

With the success of the first one, it was only a matter of time that the sequel was announced with even more bigger names and interesting lineup of technicians. Sathuranka Vettai 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by NV Nirmal Kumar and written by H. Vinoth, the film features Arvind Swamy and Trisha in the lead roles, with supporting roles by Prakash Raj, Radha Ravi, Nassar, Chandini, Sreeman, Manobala, Kumaravel, E.Ramadoss, Balaji, and Thirupathi. The film is produced by Manobala, Manobala Picture House, and Cinema City. The story once again revolves around heists and with such an ensemble we cannot wait to see it hit the theatres!

5. Garjanai

Garjanai meaning “Roar” is an upcoming Indian Tamil thriller film directed by Sundar Balu. Inspired by Navdeep Singh’s Hindi film NH10 (2015), the film features Trisha in the lead role, with Vamsi Krishna and Amit Bhargav in supporting roles. The film’s shoot began in Karaikudi during January 2017. The plot is a thriller cum action film with Trisha involved in a lot of violent scenes. It tells the story of a young couple whose road trip goes awry after an encounter with a group of violent criminals. We are sure Trisha can ace the role previously played by Anushka Sharma!

6. 1818

1818 is an upcoming bilingual Indian thriller film directed by Rithun Sagar being shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. Inspired by the events of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the film features Trisha in the lead role, with Brahmanandam and Rajendra Prasad in supporting roles. The venture began production in May 2015, though Trisha’s addition in 2017 prompted the reworking of the script. Newcomer director Rithun Sagar said it would be an “edge-of-the-seat thriller which takes place inside a five-star hotel”, where the story starts “at 6 pm and ends at 6 am the next day”. The project was launched last year with Abhinaya, Prerna Khanna, Suman, Brahmanandam, Ramesh Thilak and Nalini revealed to be playing important roles. Production began in July 2015, with Abhinaya cast as a hotel receptionist and Suman appearing as an international don. Ramesh Thilak revealed that the film had been reworked and that he would play a hotel worker and Trisha would play a guest at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
