Sakshi Malik Breaks The Jinx; Wins India’s First Medal In Rio Olympics 2016!

Finally! It took a strong willed, determined and hardworking woman to fulfill India’s dream of winning an Olympic medal. 23-year-old Sakshi Malik gave 1.3 billion Indians great news to wake up to!

 

 

The Rohtak girl beat Mongolia’s Orkhon Purevdorj, and Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova in the 58-kg category of Women’s Freestyle Wrestling.

 

 

 

While speaking to Journalist Suromitro Basu, of Sports Keeda she said a few days ago,”I’m not going to lose either, I won’t give up.”

Sakshi has scripted history by being the first woman wrestler from India to have won the medal! The country is proud of the champ and cheers to powerful and determined women like her!
