Quick Fashion Guide : What Not To Wear To Work

There have been numerous advice as to what one should and shoudlbt do at a job interview, from body language to clothing options, you have every do and dont in place. But what most of us miss out is what one should do once you land the job. We all know the ground rules to collegaue interaction, behaviour with boss, work ettiquetes etc. But no one really educates us on the dress code, while most corporate offices have a formal or informal code of dressing, the start up or the casual workplaces are a little tricky. Your work environment is casual , your boss is rational and your colleagues are buddies but that does not give one the liberty to conduct as one likes. So, here is a simple list of Dont’s for what you shouldn’t wear to your workplace:

Flip Flops/ Slippers

Flip Flops should be limited to your homes, beaches, errands and nothing else in between. Its a code break if you attempt to wear these to shopping malls, dinners, movies and office. Its never cool to show up in a pair of slippers, its not a style statement, only a reflection of your lazy self. So, if you have landed yourself a job, please make an attempt to graduate to a pair of sandals.

A low-neck top

However sexy the top may may you look, a low neck is a big NO. We know that women shouldn’t be told what to wear and what not to wear simply because it makes them a target, but here the argument is different. This applies to men too, wearing a shirt with three or more buttons open is not appropriate for office. In fact it isn’t appropriate anywhere however ripped your body might be.

Low – waist jeans or trousers:

Another examplae of improper dressing to work inckudes low waist jeans. While a decently low waist is fine till the time your top or kurtis cover your belly, its better to opt for a waist that cmfortable and correct. Keep your low waist options for outings and club nights.

Sheer:

Transparent tops are unsuitable for the workplace. They reveal more than necesaary, there is a time and place for these items from your wardribe, lets limit them out from work wear. Howvere formal the top might look, it is not for office.

Short skirts:

Like the sheer tops, these also might give an impression of formal wear but it isn’t if its too short. Skirts are formal but too short or too tight isn’t. Steer clear of these when your dressing for office.

Old T-shirts:

We understand that they are ultra comfortable but they don’t give a good impression of your hygiene fundas. Lets be clear, these tees are good to lounge in but not to work in. So keep you beloved boyfriend tees out of the office.
