JFW’s Fashion Report: Who Wore What This Week!

The week had stars making fashion statements and blunders, so we bring you the best and the worst dressed of the week. From wearing traditionals to funky Indo-western outfits, here are actresses styling it up with each event they head to!

Rakul Preet

It would appear that it was Rakul Preet’s week. From fashionable statements to sporting a new outfit every day, Rakul dressed to kill. She wasn’t extra, just plain putting on her fashionable best for all the events lined up. She began the week with her favourite colour – blue – in a mix of Urvahi Joneja and Chanel, styled by her friend Neeraja Kona.

Verdict: Yay!

She followed it up with this elegant sequined dress by Shriya Som. More than the dress, we love the way she’s carrying it off especially in those matching shoes.

Verdict: Yay!

But here’s where Rakul outdid herself. Speaking at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, Rakul wore this gorgeous blood red Lola by Suman B outfit and charmed everyone. The best part is, jewellery is minimal here with the golden drops and rings giving the look much pizzaz.

Verdict: Double Yay!

In this SVA by Sonam & Paras Modi lehenga, Rakul looks gorgeous. But we wish she tried out a different hairstyle. While waves look nice, how often can you sport the same look for every outfit?

Verdict: Yay.

Shruti Haasan

As the host of a chat show, it’s imperative that Shruti Haasan is always dressed in her best and, yet, gives off a friendly and comfortable vibe so as to not overshadow her guests. While she usually gets her look right, we are a tad bit disappointed here. There sure is a retro charm to this look but it doesn’t appear well-suited in her case. The top looks too boxy and the hair is a wee bit trying too hard. Retro looks are always welcome, provided it’s teamed up with the right accessories, which are evidently missing here save the headband.

Verdict: Nay.

Priyamani

Elegant charm alright, but Priyamani’s Anarkali is a bit all over the place. The lavender-gold dupatta and the bottle green suit is not just overdone but also looking a little misplaced. However, we are in love with her shoes and makeup!

Verdict: Almost Nay.

Sara Ali Khan

This star kid is all set for her first film and has taken the fashion world by storm! Giving heavy competition to other star kids such as Jahnvi Kapoor, who has been a top contender in the fashion department, Sara Ali Khan not only looks gorgeous in this outfit, she also comes across as a fun, amiable person with clothes that aren’t too bland or boring.

Verdict: Yay!

Here, too, she looks fun and fairly regal, perhaps a tribute to her royal lineage. Her hair, too, is perfect for an outfit like this and even if she’s dressed a tad extra, she still nails it!

Verdict: Yay!

Kajal Aggarwal

It’s been a while since Kajal let her hair down and tried out something fun and floral. This gown that she elegantly poses for makes her look her age and quite gorgeous. Mad props to the stylist here, who, despite the heavily-flowered dress, puts on appropriate chunky jewellery.

Verdict: Yay!
