Fashion Report Card: Hits and Misses of the Week!

Last week had stars making fashion statements and blunders, so we bring you the best and the worst dressed of the week. From wearing traditionals to funky Indo-western outfits, here are actresses styling it up with each event they head to!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has preferred more darker shades the older she gets, choosing blacks and maroons more often now, something that blends well with her lipstick. While it is a bold fashion statement, it’s also playing safe. In this floral design ensemble, where it’s a mix between Indian and Western, Aishwarya looks lovely but we wish she had dared to try something different. The look doesn’t exactly leave you a lasting impression and the hairstyle is no different either.

Verdict: Nay

Aditi Rao Hydari

For the audio launch of her film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Aditi Rao Hydari wore maroon ethnic gown with metallic jhumkas. While the earrings and hairstyle were in her favour, the outfit, however, was a bit of a let down. The colour is perfect for the occasion but the fit just doesn’t seem to look right. It looks a little loose from the sides and almost as though it was a last minute choice.

Verdict: Nay

Aishwarya Rajesh

For the audio launch of her film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Aishwarya Rajesh opted for burgundy with a tinge of gold. The anarkali with full sleeves and cuts on the shoulders, designed by Ashwin Thiyagarjan, looks amazing on her. Not only is the fit perfect, but the make-up, hairdo and jewellery really go with the look!

Verdict: Yay!

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor at a recent book launch wore this outfit by Anaam, a label based in New Delhi. While there’s nothing to complain about her hair and make-up, and those boots, the outfit, however, doesn’t exactly blend with the occasion. It’s a fashion statement alright, going with the baggy clothes and loose wavy hair, but it just doesn’t seem to be something you’d wear to a big book launch.

Verdict: Almost Yay.

Keerthy Suresh

Keerthy Suresh wore this silk piece for a television chat show and looked gorgeous! The outfit, by Ekaya, is a massive fashion statement made by the ‘Mahanati’ girl showing that she, much like her contemporaries, is at the top of her game even when it comes to fashion. The outfit looks grand and comfy, with her keeping it minimal in the jewelry and hair department. Kudos to her and her stylist!

Verdict: Yay!

Samantha Akkineni

Samantha Akkineni, the past few weeks, has been impressing fashionistas with her choices. If last week belonged to her, this week, too, she amps up her style and keeps it classy and subtle. Opting for a lot of grays, this jumpsuit from Notebook and that Gucci belt is a lovely combination. Add her long earrings (or drops) and tied up coiffed hair and you have a classy Samantha who is casual and chic at the same time!
