Fashion Forward: 4 Inspiring Celebrity Looks This Season!

Get The Look

It’s November, the month when all the festive attires go back to the trunk, and fashion takes a new route. Since everyone has just gotten done with the ‘dressing-up’ hangover, style becomes simple, practical and comfortable, even boring one might say. To keep November stylish and fabulous, Varsha Abhay has 4 inspiring celebrity looks that will keep your fashion game going strong.

The year has been a roller coaster with regard to trends, Indian prints dominated designer collections, embellishments and embroideries were also seen in plenty. But this month we plan to keep it stylish and classy, the 4 looks featured here promise exactly that.

Samantha Akkineni

It is without any doubt that Samantha is at the top of her fashion game all the time. Whether it is in a saree or a pretty dress, her style never misses a point. Thanks to an impeccable stylist and her amazing self-confidence, Samantha surely is a fashionista of south Indian cinema.

In this look, she mixes up casual with formal but also keeps it chic. Breaking down the elements, she gets casual with the pair of distressed denim, formal with the grey tweed blazer and chic with that cute cropped top and pumps. Since there are lots of focal points in her look, she keeps her hair and makeup very simple and dishes any accessories.

The denim, the bustier, the pumps and the blazer, we all have that in our wardrobe; it’s now a matter of putting them together. Pick a blazer that fits you well at the shoulders and arms, if the body is loose, the better. Layering an outfit will also help you hide any extra weight that you might have gained during the festivals. A bustier or a cropped top is one way to go, but if you wish to swap that with a well-fitted tank top or a spaghetti, that works too.  A closed shoe will complement the look, hence if not heels switch to a pair of pretty ballerinas.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is always the talk of the town, whether it is turning producer, or getting engaged to Nick Jonas or signing more Hollywood projects. She is always surrounded by paparazzi. PCs style game changes and evolves with every year.

Here you see her stepping out on the streets of New York City looking like the diva that she is. Due to her petite hourglass figure, pencil skirts cinching the waist are extremely flattering. The crimson colour look complements her Indian skin immaculately. The different fabrics for the top and skirt are a smart choice, while the skirt is fit and close to the body, the silk shirt gets to be flirtatious and bounce with the body. She chose a red lip colour and has kept makeup to a minimum. What we love especially are the animal print shoes!

There are three ways to get the look. First, get the same colour top and skirt and go monochrome as PC did. Single colour outfits give an illusion of a slimmer frame, hence if you wish to achieve that, opt for monochromes. Like her, you can accessorize with a bag and quirky shoes. The second look is where you pair the pencil skirt with a printed shirt. This works well for women with small shoulders and broad hips. Here, since the top is going to get busy with print, accessories should be simple and so should the footwear. The third look is where you do the opposite. The top remains solid and the skirt gets a little print. Stripes, checks and small floral look great.

Janhvi Kapoor

After the release of her debut film, Janhvi Kapoor has finally made a rather dramatic entry into the world of Bollywood and also fashion. Her style is young and new but with an old world charm to it. A muse for Manish Malhotra, Jhanvi switches from Indian ethnic to modern chic without a miss.

Here, she was clicked attending the fashion week. She is wearing the classic white and black combo and keeps it fresh. With the blazer, she ditches the trousers and opts for a mini skirt that accentuates her long legs. Other than the skirt, she keeps the look simple by pairing a crisp white blouse with it. Adding colour with a pop of red on her lips, Jhanvi has kept even the accessories to the monochrome. Her soft curls give the ensemble a casual appeal.

On one hand, the look is very simple, black and white, shirt and blazer and all things that match. But if the skirt is not the right fit or the blazer is ill-fitting, your look can be ruined.  A nice white shirt or a flared top is step number 1. The next is to find the skirt that fits you like a glove. If not comfortable with a micro mini length, go for a knee length skirt but make sure it fits you right. Accessorize with a pair of stud earrings or a sling bag and pick pumps for shoes.

Radhika Apte

Radhika Apte is ruling the screens, with her back to back Netflix series and her movies. With releases, come promotions and with promotions, come appearances. Radhika Apte keeps her style trendy and comfy. She is always spotted wearing stylish outfits that complement her personality and personal taste.

For one of her TV show premiers, she was seen wearing this attire. A black and gold combination, the ensemble is killer. What we love about it are those flared pants that give an illusion of long legs and the crop top that adds to the flattery. It’s a complete party look that you can easily achieve with things in your closet. She keeps her hair and makeup subtle but we sure would love a brighter lip or eye make up with this one.

How we would style this is with some more elements. If your pants aren’t gold or shimmery, you can add that glitter with some jewellery. Go for solid colour trousers because prints are tricky. You could experiment with some prints for the crop top. Find flared pants or palazzos that are of the right fit and high waist. The key to getting this look right is the pants. You could add more glamour to the look with bolder eyes or darker lips, make sure you don’t do both.  Wear heels that go with the length of the palazzo to keep you from tripping on those flares.
