Decoding Mrunal Thakur’s looks from Sita Ramam!

The movie Sita Ramam is considered a Box-Office Hit and has become a recent blockbuster. People are going for two to three shows to rewatch the magical love story onscreen. While the movie’s romantic screenplay and lovely setting are commendable, people have fallen madly and deeply in love with Mrunal Thakur, who has made her Telugu debut with this film. This is her first film in a South Indian language, and she has been winning the hearts of literally everybody who has watched the film. Although her expressions and versatile acting are reasons for her fan following, it is important to mention that he costume and styling have played an important role as well. Now that we have all enjoyed Sita Mahalakshmi onscreen, here’s decoding her looks from the film.

Her stylists is said to be Sheetal Sharma. Her sarees and half-sarees were mostly a visual treat in the song Inthandham, which introduced the couples love journey to the audience. Everytime Sita Mahalakshmi leads Lieutenant Ram on, and flirts with him in the song, the our eyes were glued only to her because of the styling and outfits.

In this look, Sita is styled with an Organza saree that resembles the blue shade of the sky. She has paired this saree with a high-neck collared blouse, along with semi-puff sleeves. The highlight of this look is that the blouse is print-less and plain, to suit the sarees subtle floral designs. The collar is also a different kind of collar, that suits a saree. Her open hair, and single pleat styling completes the look on the whole.

Style Tip: Style this saree with heavy earrings. Do not wear a necklace, as the blouse is a high-neck one!

It is true when they say that ‘you can never go wrong with Black’ when it comes to sarees. True to the belief, this somewhat monochrome saree look of the character, is one of the most iconic ones from the entire film. This cotton saree, with a same colour rounded sweetheart neckline blouse, is a simple look that proved to be super elegant. As the neckline is a little deep, she went with a choker, stud and single-bangle styling, of the contrasting golden colour. In addition, the long sleeves in this look are the perfect combination for stiff cotton sarees.

Style Tip: If you have dark hair, put your tresses in braids to elevate the look on the whole!

Sita not only fascinated us with Sarees, but also with half sarees. In this look, her half saree in made of a semi net and Art Silk mixed material. The glistening skirt and the net-finish blouse, highlight the turquoise ensemble. The most important feature of a half-saree is its flow. Here, the volume and the flow of the skirt is what makes her stride in this scene, all the more pretty. The stylist has not thought too much about the blouse’s neckline, and has gone for a simple U cut. The plain skirt, netted blouse and the embroidered half-saree, is the perfect formula that has completed this look.

Style Tip: You can additionally wear a medium length thin chain that goes with the earring and bangle!

Again, this is another monochrome half-saree look. Interestingly, while the saree material is Georgette, the blouse and skirt are made of silk cotton material. The half-saree also has Chamki  work on its body, along with a embroidery border. While the skirt has traditional silk checks print, the blouse has the typical silk motif print. Again, this blouse is also a simple U cut, but the 3/4 hand is what suits best for a silk blouse. The stylist has avoided a necklace, as it would have spoiled the work of the saree material.

Style Tip: Instead of fully open hair, you can try a half-up half-down hairstyle with medium size Jhumka earrings!

Although Sita Mahalakshmi looks distressed in this scene, we couldn’t help but notice her vibrant saree and styling for the scenario. This is again a checkered pure cotton saree. More than the saree in the look, the clothing of wonder is the Blouse. The Blouse is not only a fully puff-sleeved one, but also a high-neck, deep cut blouse. Such a cut and neck pattern helps in elevating your collar-bones. Naturally, as the actor is melancholic in the scene, she has gone for daily-wear jewellery and minimal make-up.

Style Tip: Try multiple pleats for the saree, instead of a single pleat, for a even more organised look.

Sita seems to have a liking for floral prints. This is yet another floral saree made out of Chiffon. Typically, this blouse cut is a 60’s fashion statement. This sleeve cut is a mega or cap sleeve style. The collar is a buttoned Chinese-collar with Hakoba embroidery. This kind of a blouse cut is almost unseen in recent times. As the blouse and saree ensemble gives a professional look, the stylist has gone for a ornamental watch for her right wrist. She has also worn a heavy-stud earring that makes her styling even grand.

Style Tip: In case you don’t have an ornamental watch, wear a charms bracelet instead, along with a ring!
