A Sabyasachi Wedding: 7 Brides And Their Most Famous Sabyasachi Attire!

When it comes to big fat weddings in India, if there’s one designer that comes to mind, it’s Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The prodigal designer who started off on a humble note in Kolkata is one of the most celebrated designers India has seen in recent times. No wedding takes place without mentioning his name! And stars seem to love his work, incorporating it to their wedding vows too! With Soundarya Rajinikanth being the latest Sabyasachi bride, check out other celebrities who chose this versatile designer for their big day:

Deepika Padukone

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who got married on November 14 and 15 in two ceremonies in Lake Como, Italy, chose Sabyasachi as their designer. Dressed from head-to-toe in Sabyasachi’s clothes and jewels, they made the entire nation wait for wedding pictures, with everybody waiting impatiently to see what Deepika wore for her highly anticipated wedding. Needless to say, it was all worth the wait and look how pretty she looks!

Anushka Sharma

Anuska Sharma and Virat Kohli, too, got married in Italy in October last year. No one saw this coming, with the two suddenly sharing photos of themselves getting married and looking so happy. Dressed in a lilac pink Sabyasachi lehenga, Anushka was the quintessential Bollywood bride, looking her best ever. Not to forget, the way the couple went matchy-matchy with the colour of their wedding attires.

Samantha Akkineni

Samantha Akkineni and her clothes were the most talked about when it came to her wedding. There was once a rumour that Sam would be wearing a special South Indian woven saree that was owned and adorned by the groom’s grandmother D.Rajeswari, the wife of legendary filmmaker D. Ramanaidu. However, this just turned out to be a rumour and Sam chose Sabyasachi on her special day. She wore an Ivory gold Kanjeevaram saree from the designer’s ‘Vasanthalaxmi’ Collection and paired it with a red silk embroidered blouse.

Asin

Asin Thottumkal, on her wedding day, chose gold and beige – two colours that take her to her Malayali roots. With a hint of maroon here and there, Asin looked like a queen on her wedding day. And who better make her a queen than Sabyasachi!

Bipasha Basu

Bollywood’s fitness queen turned bride in 2016 and rocked it! Considering she’s Bengali, Sabyasachi, a Bengali himself, brought out all things Bong in her wedding lehenga. The generous amount of red and gold in her outfit complemented the jewels and the quintessential Bengali bridal make-up, almost.

Soha Ali Khan

For her wedding, Soha Ali Khan opted for a wedding lehenga that isn’t necessarily something a Bollywood star would opt for but she still rocks it. A rather sober choice, she chose a gold-dusted lehenga, which she paired with an orange dupatta. Needless to say, she still looked like royalty on her wedding day.

Soundarya Rajinikanth

Soundarya Rajinikanth wedded Vishagan Vanangamudi on February 11th. The beautiful event took place at The Leela Palace Chennai and the couple looked happier than ever. They also hosted a cocktail party for friends and family the very evening making it a day to remember. Soundarya was clad in a custom-made Sabyasachi Lehenga and she completed the look with a Sabyasachi belt.
