By this time almost everybody would have watched Bahubali 2. The movies are India’s highest grossing film and are the first Indian movie to reach Rs 1000 crores.
With all the commotion going on about how brilliant the movie is, some couldn’t help but wonder about the similarities between Bahubali and the Disney movie, The Lion King.
The story of Bahubali is after all about how a man named Shiva returns to his kingdom Mahishmati to reclaim his throne from his evil uncle Bhallala Deva. Rings any bell?
Besides the striking storyline, Bahubali and The Lion King have many other similarities.
Like how the kingdom is introduced to their future king.
How both the evil villains feel downtrodden because of their successful brothers and how both have a menacing scar above the right eye.
Just like how Scar imprisons Mufasa’s wife, Sarabi, Bhallala Deva imprisons his brother’s wife, Devasena.
Simba and Shiva are both raised by those outside the kingdom.
Both the princes have no idea about their significance in their kingdom. While Simba ran out from his, Shiva was brought up with no clue as to his lineage.
Just like Simba and Mufasa, Amarendra and Mahendra look alike.
Both Simba and Shiva start with an aggressive duel with their love interests, Nala and Avanthika respectively. Both the love interests spark the need to save their kingdoms within the respective heroes.
Both the movies have a wise side character with a white beard.
Wow! Mindblown.
