9 Kitchen Remedies For A Smooth And Younger Looking Skin!

Baking soda

 

 

Baking soda is much more than just that white powder that we unconsciously consume in many forms of food. Being abundant in minerals, it acts as the best beautifying agent. Here are its multiple uses

If you are thinking of ways to stop break-outs and acne, mix one teaspoon baking soda with filtered water and rub it on the affected area for about a minute. Rinse it off and feel the difference.  Your skin will glow and you can actually feel a much cleaner and softer skin. It is a mini microdermabrasion treatment. Baking soda is an excellent drying agent and exfoliates the skin quite well. Remember to moisturise after washing the face and drying.

 
Olives

 

You have had them in your food, in the form of oil and salads adorned with black olives. Olives are also a big hit as hair oils for they nourish your hair leaving it soft and glossy. Nonetheless, olives have a major role to play as a beauty product for your skin too.

Take a drop of olive oil and massage your face gently with it. Repeated bouts of acne leave your skin dry. Olive oil’s moisturizing nutrients will help your face regain its moisture and elasticity, making it soft and supple again. Olives are also considered to be excellent anti-ageing agents.  Applying a face pack made of olive oil and figs also does wonders to your skin. Oilves are excellent for hydrating your skin.  Just ensure that you buy a good brand of olive oil for the purpose.

 

Butter

 

 

Butter is perhaps the only product that can be used by anyone at any age for a glowing, healthy skin. Since it is rich in fatty acids they serve as excellent natural moisturizers for your skin. You can pamper yourself from head to toe with butter,

Apply a teaspoon of butter on your face gently. Rinse your face after a few minutes. Notice the visible change butter brings to your skin. Shea butter is often recommended by many for beauty purposes. Mix a little fig with butter and apply the face mask, leaving it for a few minutes before washing it off. The result will be obvious- glowing, healthy skin.

Lemon

 

The age-old beauty agent is not just a good bleaching agent but also exfoliates your skin. However, make sure you use an effective sunscreen before you step out in the sun as lemon makes your skin photosensitive.

Lemon when added with honey serves as an excellent face mask for bleaching your skin and removing sun tan, naturally. Just apply the mixture for five to ten minutes before washing it off. You can see immediate results in the form of supple, clear skin. For longer results use the pack regularly, say once a week. Lemon also works wonders for acne problems. Just rub a few drops of lemon juice on your face with cotton ball. Rinse it off after a minute. Do the procedure quite regularly to see acne spots reduce gradually.

Tomatoes

 

 

We gorge on them, quite often, be it as pizza toppings, or in our traditional food items and salads. It is a proven fact that tomatoes are excellent hydrants due to high water content in them. But, a lesser known fact about tomatoes is that they are excellent astringents for your skin.

Rub a piece of tomatoes on your face evenly for removing acne scars. Gradually, they lighten the marks and with longer use, you can see the marks vanishing, completely. After a long day out in the sun and pollution, apply tomato juice to your face and rinse it off. You can feel your tired skin glowing and healthier. Try this method regularly to hydrate and clean your skin.  Tomatoes give any type of skin a healthy glow. A tomato-and-avocado mask is great for combination skin (oily, normal, and dry) because it combines the astringent, blackhead- and oil-reducing benefits of tomatoes with the antiseptic and moisturizing properties of avocados.

 

Turmeric

 

 

Turmeric is a beauty aid that is totally harmless but presents excellent results. It is an economical and indigenous beauty aid that provides great results when used regularly.

For a face mask, use turmeric and sandalwood powder to make a smooth paste. Apply the paste on your face and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with cold water.

For any type of skin infection apply turmeric and neem paste on the affected area. You can see definite results.

For wrinkles, apply turmeric and malai (milk cream) on the skin and around your eyes. The treatment will remove dark circle and lines around the eyes.

Gingelly oil,Sesame oil or Til oil

 

 

This oil forms an integral part of alternative medicine, body and hair massage .Due to its anti-oxidant property and unsaturated fats in it, it is a much sought after beauty ingredient.

Gingelly oil is an excellent moisturiser and penetrates skin easily; hence it is quite popular as a remedy for dry skin. The usual method is applying a teaspoon of gingelly oil on the face for about five minutes before washing it off. Regular use makes it a great natural moisturiser that results in healthy and radiant skin. There are also claims that gingelly oil is a great source for anti-ageing process as it keeps the skin smooth, soft and flexible.

Eggs

 

 

This is perhaps another food item that comes handy in many forms, be it for hair masks or for facial beauty products. Being abundant in amino acids, it is a versatile commodity that cane be used to repair various skin ailments.

Separate the egg white from the yolk. Beat it up a little until they get foamy. Then apply it directly to your skin. Let it dry. Then wash it with warm water. The egg white tightens and tones your skin.

If you have a party to attend and want to fix tired looking eyes, egg reduces puffiness from under the eye. Apply a thin film of egg white on the dark shadows under your eyes and leave it on for 10 minutes, till it dries and tightens. This will make the skin feel tighter and look less puffy.

An egg mask is the best natural remedy for irritated skin. Use the egg mask to smooth your skin. Egg contains amino acids that help in reduction of the inflammation. The proteins found in raw eggs can be highly beneficial to the skin. To treat full body, Crack a few eggs into your running bath water. Use eggs along with your bath soap. Within a few days, you will notice naturally smoothed skin.

Water the most effective remedy

 

 

Finally, drink loads of water, irrespective of whether you fell thirsty or not.  It is essential to drink at least three liters of water a day, although recommended is 8 liters , to flush out toxins and for a healthy, clean and fresh skin.
