5 Times Madhavan Gave Us Boyfriend Goals On Screen!

Kollywood’s chocolate boy R Madhavan has so many projects in the pipeline that we can’t help but reminisce about all the times he gave us serious #BoyfriendGoals in films. Maddy didn’t start out with films first. Having made his debut in the TV series, he first appeared on screen for the Hindi soap opera Banegi Apni Baat in 1996. He went on to make an even more smashing appearance in the series Sea Hawks. Soon enough, Madhavan joined films and there’s been no looking back!

Making his presence felt in Tamil and Hindi films, Madhavan continues to be every girl’s dream boy. And with a smile like that, can you really help it?

Alaipayuthey

He made his Tamil debut in Mani Ratnam’s film and had established himself as that actor who can not just act but can charm with him smile! Playing Karthik in the film, Madhavan’s character really fell head-over-heels for his lady love and he tried bringing back romance between them even when their relationship was in the rocks. Plus, he even learns and tries to better himself each time!

Minnale

This Gautham Menon film was the actor’s second most popular one. It was sort of another level to his Karthik role. As Rajesh, he does a few unsettling things such as lying to the woman he loves, but at the end, coming clean, he holds no grudges and aims to do better than that. A character who redeems himself, especially after the girl changes him. Not only was he at his romantic best, he and Reema Sen were a delight on screen.

Kannathil Muthamittal

As Tiruchelvan, we witnessed Madhavan in a more emotional role. Bearded and having a way with words, Madhavan’s character didn’t need extra frills because he was charming in itself. His ambition to adopt the little baby and bring her up with Indira won her hearts. And the way he proposes to Indira is the cutest thing in the film!

Rang De Basanti

Albeit a cameo, Madhavan played flight lieutenant Ajay Rathod and was a smooth boyfriend who proposed to his girlfriend in the most adorable way possible. In front of friends, catching her by surprise, he got down on one knee to propose to her! His character was equally crucial to drive the story forward.

Tanu Weds Manu

In this romantic comedy, Madhavan played Manoj ‘Manu’ Sharma, a rather dorky middle class man who gets a new lease of life when he meets the vibrant Tanu. The film had us all in splits, but more than that, we loved the way Manu would simply watch Tanu, even though the two had nothing in common, their chemistry was off the charts!
