5 Celebrity Hairstyles That You Can Copy This Diwali!

It’s almost Diwali and there is the pressure to look festive where you look grand in your new, fresh clothes and jewellery that sparkle like the lamp itself. While the conventional style would be to let your hair loose, you can always try out a variety of styles that celebrities have made popular over the years. Right from a fish plait to a messy yet classy bun, the world is your oyster where you can experiment away! So don’t go boring this season, try something fun.

Make buns fun again

If you plan on wearing a saree, try to dress up your hair in a bun. Instead of going for a neat, sleek, tight bun, try the messier route. You will need some serum, hairspray, a brush and hairdryer for this one. And don’t opt for a scrunchie or hair net. Go for clips, bobby pins, and flowers. Wear long jhumkas or chandbalis to give it a more ethnic look.

Messy Plaits are cool too!

Aditi Rao Hydari has mastered the art of messy plats, ponies and buns. For someone who has naturally wavy hair, with less volume, Aditi tries to keep it as funky and fun as possible. So even if it’s a plait, she makes two cornrows and still lets some hair loose on the side. Shruti Haasan’s hairstyle, and with her volume, makes for a nice loose messy plait. You don’t have to keep it tight and serious always!

Short hair, don’t care!

She surprised everybody this year when she chopped her long, luscious hair short. However, she’s never looked any better! Short hair needn’t boring and proves it. With each ethnic outfit she wears, her hairstyle is different and fun. Right from plaiting it on one side and keeping it as a mini side bun to making it wavy around and straight on the front – the length doesn’t matter as long as you keep experimenting with it! You’d need your curling brush, a good hairdryer and a few bobby pins for this style.

Curls rule!

It can be rather difficult to maintain curly hair but it’s never impossible. There are very few celebs who truly own their curls and do not shy away from showing it off. Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu are prime examples, where they are queens when it comes to showing off them curls. For the perfect curls, opt for shampoos that have zero parabens or sulphate, and those that give out a lot of moisture. Use special serums and oils reserved for curly hair alone. Use a diffuser and use a heat protectant spray when you blow dry your hair. Once you have curly hair, you can style it up with two cornrows braided on the side and then left loose or simply pinned to the side.

Go vintage!

Vintage hairstyles are making a comeback. From highrise, coiffed buns to plaits with fringes – vintage hairstyles are fun and a cute throwback to the past. Actresses like Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sonam Kapoor, and several others occasionally go vintage when dressed in ethnics. Needless to say, they rock the look quite seamlessly.
