1) Chekka Chivantha Vaanam
Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is an action thriller directed by Mani Ratnam. The movie is one of the most anticipated this year because of its A-grade cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Jyothika, Silambarasan, Aditya Rao Hydari, and several others. The film’s soundtrack has been composed by none other than the musical maestro- A.R. Rahman himself. The movie will also be dubbed in Telugu and released as Nawab.
2) Seethakaathi
Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, Seethakaathi is a Tamil drama that will star Vijay Sethupathi in a dual role. The actor will be playing both father and son. Balaji disclosed that the movie is not a biopic depicting the life of the philanthropist with the same name but will touch upon the values that Seethakaathi propagated. This movie is a must-watch for 2 reasons- this is the first time Vijay Sethupathi is playing a dual role and the film will be his 25th!
3) Super Deluxe
After his debut with the critically acclaimed Aaranya Kaandam, director Thiagarajan Kumararaja is ready with his second film- Super Deluxe. This multi-starrer features Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Akkineni, and Fahadh Faasil, to name a few. Music is being handled by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The versatile Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the role of Shilpa, a transgender person. His stunning first look has created quite the buzz. The movie has been set to hit the screens in September.

This romantic drama will star Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan as the leads. The title of the movie is rumoured to be depicting the year 1996. From the teaser, it looks like Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the role of a travel photographer. We also hear that Trisha will play the role of a teacher. This is the first time the duo will be sharing screen space and the one thing we can confirm from the teaser is that their chemistry will totally win our hearts.
5) Imaikkaa Nodigal
Starring Nayanthara, Atharva, Raashi Khanna, and Anuraag Kashyap, Imaikkaa Nodigal is a thriller film set to release in September. Nayanthara is playing a strong female role and Vijay Sethupathi will make a cameo as Vikramadithan. The film has been directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony fame.
