Samantha Ruth Prabhu
It’s just been over 5 years that Samantha has entered the South Indian film industry, however, she has received super stardom in very little time. Sam, as her fans love to call her, has not looked back since. Samantha debuted in Gautham Menon’s ‘Ae Maya Chesave’ in 2010 and has continued to top the charts. She won many awards in her career and this year has been super hit for the star. 2016 started with a low for Sam as her movie ‘Bangalore Naatkal’ a remake of superhit Malayalam film ‘Bangalore days’ bombed at the box office. This did not affect her confidence as she went on to garner many rave reviews for her next movie ‘Theri’ opposite Vijay.
Samantha worked with almost every top star in the South cinema and her next big movie was with Suriya in 24. The movie fared average at the box office, however, Samantha’s role was well received. Samantha’s next movie was a huge family entertainer ‘Brahmotsavam’ which bombed at the box office. However, she took it ahead and garnered positive reviews for her next film ‘A..Aa’. In her next movie Janatha Garage, which was a huge blockbuster, Samantha once again proved she’s here to stay.
She is currently working on three Tamil films which have already set up curiosity for the upcoming year. It’s been a great year for her as she found love in her former co-star Naga Chaitanya and is all set to get engaged in 2017! Let’s see what the New Years brings in for the star.
