Trisha has been doing well in both Telugu and Tamil industries for 14-years since her debut in ‘Mounam Pesiyadhae’. The actress has mostly had highs but cherishes the current phase of her career as the best for various reasons.

Her recent film ‘Kodi’ , a political-dram had a great reach and added cheer to her career where Trisha plays a negative role in the film for the first time. In an interview given to Idream media, she says that her experience in the industry has given her the strength to take up a negative role and that she couldn’t have pulled it off this way if it was five or six years back.

When Director Durai had approached her with the script, Trisha did not accept the offer at once as she felt that she couldn’t relate to the character that’s selfish and wicked. But when the director insisted that he wrote the script with Trisha in mind, she wanted to give it a try.

‘Rudhra’, the role she plays in ‘Kodi’ as a politician has been one of the best roles she has done in her career. The simple village girl look followed by an authoritarian politician look, left the audience amazed. The actress says that the homework that the cast and crew had done during the pre-production was the reason for the reach.

In spite of both Dhanush and Trisha being in the industry for a long time, she says that she is happy that ‘Kodi’ is her first film with Dhanush as she feels that she has done justice to her role ‘Rudhra’ as a competent actress to Dhanush on screen. She added that Dhanush was a great support throughout the film and helped her give the best for the character.

Trisha is now engaged with different genres of films such as Mohini, Sathuranga Vettai 2, Garjanai and Hey Jude, her Malayalam debut with Nivin Pauly. She added that she is open to commercial movies too and would choose them if she is confident that she can fit in the role.
