Swathi’s Murder Case To Be Made Into A Movie!

Woah!

Almost a year ago, the most gruesome murder in Nungambakkam, Chennai shook the very depths of humanity. Now, a year later, a movie is to be made about the murder and hopefully, it will bring light on the hidden, dark secrets involving the murder.

On June 24, 2016, 24-year-old Swathi was hacked to death by Ramkumar, while waiting for a train in Nungambakkam railway station. The case was thoroughly investigated and the criminal was caught by the police within a few months. However, Ramkumar committed suicide by biting a live wire in prison.

The case will be brought on screens by Director Ramesh Selvan. The filmmaker has been following the case intently and began to write the script in August last year. Ramesh Selvan said, “I followed the investigation and spoke to a few acquaintances of both Swathi and Ramkumar, as well as officials investigating the case as research for the movie,”

Ajmal will be playing the role of an investigative officer who solves the case and many new faces play supporting roles. The director has retained the original names and will be reproducing the case as it is on screen. “I will take the film and screen it to both Swathi’s and Ramkumar’s families separately and get their approval before I proceed with the release,” he said.
