Latha Rajinikanth ordered to pay 6.2 Crores by Supreme Court

Court orders amount to be remmitted in 12 weeks.

Latha Rajinikanth, wife of Superstar has been in deep trouble ever since allegations of her selling the rights to the movie ‘Kochadaiiyan’ illegally has surfaced. The Supreme Court today has ordered the well-known personality to pay a private distribution company Rs 6.2 crore, with interest, within 12 weeks, ANI reported. The money needs to be refunded by Media One Global Entertainment, where Latha Rajinikanth is a director.

The order comes after allegations of a case of cheating against her. Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd claimed in 2015 that Media One, Latha’s Company had illegally sold the rights of the movie Kochadaiiyaan to an entertainment company by producing fake documents in court. They also stated that Media One had taken money from them amounting to Rs.10 Crore in April 2014 wherein Latha Rajinikanth had signed as a guarantor for the loan. This after the film ran into a lot of post-production issues.

If Media One fails to repay Ad Bureau within 12 weeks, the Supreme Court said Latha Rajnikanth would have to pay the company herself.
