South Indian Actress Called “Fat” By This Bollywood Actress; Hansika And Khushbu Slam Her On Social Media!

Body shaming is never pardonable!

Women are fighting against a lot of issues the society has blamed them for for many years and body-shaming is one of them. This stigma of  “if a woman is fat she is ugly or South-Indian women are always bulgy” is something that has been told for quite sometime now. Although a lot from Bollywood have worked in the South Indian film industry and Vice Versa, this still remains a joke. Adding to this, a Bollywood actress said the very same thing about South Indian Actresses:

Hina Khan of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehalatha Hai’ fame is currently a contestant of the ‘Bigg Boss 11’ hosted by Salman Khan.

During one of her conversations with her Bigg Boss inmates recently, Hina was seen passing remarks about Tollywood. Hina had stated that she turned down two South Indian films because the directors wanted her to put on weight. She further added that the industry likes their heroines to be curvy and voluptuous.

In a series of tweets, Hansika who has herself worked in Hindi TV before making it big down south, slammed Hina Khan:

“What is this supposed to even mean? How can she even degrade south industry like this? Doesn’t she know a lot of Bollywood actors have worked and are working in the south industry! Shame on you Hina Khan for trying to demean us. ”

In the video posted by Hansika, which is from the ongoing TV reality show Bigg Boss 11, Hina can be heard saying: “I know that they (South Indian producers) want their heroines to gain weight and flaunt their bulging figures. I was in fact offered two films by two very big production houses which I refused since they asked me to gain weight as well.”

South Indian actress Nakhat Khan, known by her stage name Khushbu Sundar also felt disappointed and wrote: “They need lessons from south on how to be dignified.. That’s why they remain where they are and our girls zoom past them.”
