It is to be noted that Simbu was very much a part of the Nadigar Sangam since he entered the film industry. He was contesting the much hyped Nadigar Sangam elections last year under Sarathkumar’s team for the post of Vice President. He lost the elections to actor Karunaas. After the elections came the huge ‘Beep Song’ controversy. Protests were held against the actor in many parts of Tamil Nadu condemning the song which put women in bad light. A case was lodged against Simbu for using vulgar and offensive language. Most of the film personalities stayed away from the controversy as they did not want to face the wrath of the general public. Nadigar Sangam wanted Simbu to apologize for the song, which he refused to do.
Simbu now in his statement has expressed his disappointment with the Association saying, he did not receive any support during his difficult times. He also made a comment on the recently held Natchathira Cricket Match (Stars Cricket Match), the matches which are held regularly by the Nadigar Sangam to raise funds for the Association. Simbu stayed away from the match, which was held in Chepauk cricket grounds, this year saying he was not in favor of asking his fans to fund for Nadigar Sangam. Simbu also feels the new Nadigar Sangam team is responsible for the delay of his upcoming film, ‘Idhu Namma Aalu.’
Now, Nadigar Sangam President, Actor Nasser has planned to make peace with the actor and will reach out to know the reason behind his quitting. Simbu is the first actor to withdraw the membership from Nadigar Sangam and this certainly has created a lot of buzz in the industry and among the public.
