Actress Nadiya is known for her powerful performances yet looks like the glamour industry is not giving the yesteryear actresses the much-deserved recognition. While speaking to Times Of India, the actress slammed the general opinion that women in their 40s can only do a certain role.

She said, “Honestly speaking, there are very few roles for women in their late 40s. People don’t understand that the 40s are the most rewarding phase of a woman’s life, where her children are grown up and are in a position to take care of themselves. Women have more time in their hands; for themselves and their interests. There is so much one can write about them — mid-life crisis, looking back at her first love, how she manages her household and independence. It’s a shame that women in their 40s are written off in the industry. I am looking at meaningful and meaty roles. Hindi film industry has moved ahead and is coming out with good subjects for women, but we still lag behind.”
