Malayalam Film Actresses To Form A Woman’s Association!

A step towards women empowerment.

Female artists of the Malayalam film industry will be joining hands to form a new organization called Women’s Collective in Cinema. The organization will be lead by Manju Warrier and editor Beena Paul. This is the first time in India where a federation will work for the welfare of women working in the Malayalam film industry.

Women like Parvathy, Vidhu Vincent, Rima Kallingal and Sajitha Madathil have been selected as the top executives of the organization. Those who are working in associations like AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) and FEFKA (Film Employees Federation of Kerala) can also be part of the Women’s Collective in Cinema.

The association aims to understand and resolve the problems faced by women in Mollywood. Manju, Beena and some other members of the association are to speak with the chief minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan on May 18 regarding the formation of the association.

The news of the formation of the association was received well by many. Director of 22 Female Kottayam, Aashiq conveyed his wishes to the initiative.
