Due to Mahadayi water sharing issue, Pro-Kannada Organisatons has called for a state-wide bandh asking the government to intervene.

– Private Schools

Most Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka will be shut on Thursday.

– Government Schools and Colleges

Bangalore University has postponed their exams for undergraduate and postgraduate courses; exams which were to be held on January 25, will now be conducted on February 6.

– Transport services

KSRTC and BMTC bus services will remain unaffected. The Bengaluru Metro will be functional on Thursday. Cab companies such as Uber and Ola will be operational. Auto workers have however decided to shut in support of the bandh.

– Government offices are likely to remain shut.

– Movies

Film shooting will be suspended for the day. Several theatres have decided to release the film Padmaavat a day early due to the bandh.
