Many of them are fighting back and violence may erupt, suspect many citizens. The demonstrators were relieved on Saturday, when the government passed an ordinance to allow Jallikattu. However, the protesters are still at the Marina beach and have said they need a permanent solution.
The protesters are increasing in numbers and are not backing down. As the Republic Day nears, the police is trying hard to disperse them. Speaking on the protest, Kamal Haasan, an ardent supporter of Jallikattu said,”This is a mistake. Aggressive police action on students passive resistance will not bear good results.”
