Her first few appearances were slammed for being one of the worst looks of the festival, however, the diva has shut the fashion police with her super chic and glamorous outfits! We take you through her looks from 2002 until last year! Let’s see how the star’s looks are rated on the fashion parameter this year! Fingers Crossed!
This is when all of it started! For her debut at the Cannes film festival, the actress wore a heavily embellished Neeta Lulla saree. She paired the bright yellow saree with heavy gold jewellery! This look was as heavily criticized as the amount of gold she wore! A desi wedding would have been the right occasion for this look!
Now that’s what we call a disaster after a disaster! Aishwarya’s second appearance was worse than her first. She was the only Indian in the Cannes jury and she turned out looking like this! She wore this neon green Neeta Lulla half-saree with really forgetful jewellery! Her makeup and hair department deserves a holiday for making her look like this! To top this look, her next one in pink was equally bad!
Aishwarya again relied upon he trusted designer friend, Neeta Lulla for her 2004 Cannes look! This was the most criticised outfit of her three appearances! The ill-fitting silver gown, with an awkward cutout at the breasts did not do justice to the most beautiful woman in the world. Her Chopard earrings couldn’t shut the massive criticism!
After three years Aishwarya finally got it right! She sizzled in floral and firty Giorgio Armani gown, and her hair and make-up seemed just perfect! For her second appearance Aishwarya wore a sheer black gown! We love this look so much!!! This still is one of her best!
Aishwarya rocked the 59th Cannes red carpet with a midnight blue strapless gown by Roberto Cavalli. She accessorized it with a quirky snake-shaped neck piece which looked absolutely stunning! The ruffles and frills added shine to her glamorous looks!
The newly wed bride walked the red carpet with her husband Abhishek Bachchan! She chose Elie Saab couture for her 7th appearance at the film festival! She’s beaming with joy and we can’t get over her smile!
2008 was a great year for Aishwarya Rai both professionally and personally! For second year in a row she arrived with her handsome husband Abhishek Bachchan and looked ravishing! The Fuschia gown won her brownie points! Yet again, she chose Elie Saab and Roberto Cavalli!
This look of Aishwarya won her a thumbs up from the fashion police! Once more she wore an Elie Saan frilled gown and Roberto Cavalli teal gown at Cannes! We’re loving it!!!
Wow!!!! This black Armani Prive evening gown paired with hot red lips is just what a Cannes look is all about! Aishwarya’s look was a huge hit and the mermaid Elie Saab gown also was equally stunning!
It just got better! The off-shoulder ivory gown by Elie Saab was a perfect outfit for a former Miss World! Aishwarya also wore this off-shoulder white and red separates which added the much needed sex appeal to the event!
This is exactly what we call a new mother’s nightmare! Aishwarya gave birth to her daughter Aaradhya a few months before the Cannes festival! Body shamers slammed Aishwarya’s post-pregnancy weight gain! The gorgeous din’t really care and walked the red carpet with elan. She again chose an Elie Saab gown! We think, all new mothers look gorgeous 🙂
One year after her daughter was born, Aishwarya shut the fashion critics in a teal Gucci Premiere gown, a beautiful black gown by Elie Saab and a floor length anarkali by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla! We loved her comeback!
We love both these looks of Aishwarya Rai! Her gold strapless gown by Roberto Cavalli and the white mermaid gown, again by Cavalli, nailed the look that year!
If we had to pick our favorite, this would be it! This ruffled Ralph & Russo wonder was exactly what was needed in Aishwarya’s Cannes looks! She looked great, fit and obviously like the most beautiful woman in the world! We look forward to her look this year! Watch this space for pics!
