Here Are Some Tips you Need To Remember If You Colour Your Hair Frequently!

Nail your hair locks!

The hair colour palette has seen a remarkable upgrade in the recent years. Boring browns and burgundies have long taken a back seat to make room for blondes, reds, icy platinums and more. We asked Bony Sasidharan, Head and Lead for Essential Looks by Schwarzkopf Professional, for his expert opinion on this practice and trend of colouring the tresses.

Colouring your hair can, in some ways, be a life-altering decision. Your complete look is crowned by this shade on your locks. Hear out this hair specialist on the ‘what’s hot and what’s not’, when it comes to this practice.

How safe is it to colour your hair frequently?

It is absolutely safe to colour your hair frequently. Experimenting with a few highlights or lowlights can lift your look without causing any damage. It is however, important to remember that coloured hair requires specialised care at home, which means your regular shampoo and conditioner are not enough. It is essential to invest in products designed specifically for colour- treated hair.

What are some shades that would suit Indian skin tones?

As a colourist, I would suggest shades of auburn or chocolate for the Indian skin tone. Dark reds or red-violets can also be considered as more daring alternatives. Select a hair colour that is one or two shades lighter than your natural hair. You still have an option of adding few highlights in case you like the colours to pop. Always have a consultation with your colorist at length, before going ahead with the service. Remember the colours that we like may not be the one that suits our hair and skin tone.
