Tamannaah Bhatia nails the warrior look just as well as she nails the simple-girl look. The first-look of her character in Seenu Ramasamy’s Kanne Kalaimane is out and we can’t help but think of her look in the filmmaker’s previous venture Dharma Durai. Dressed in a simple salwar kameez, with a book in hand and sindoor on her forehead, she is seen smiling at Udhayanidhi Stalin.

She will play a bank manager while Udhayanidhi will play a farmer in the film. A social drama, the film’s title is reportedly an ode to filmmaker Balu Mahendra. Produced by Red Giant Movies, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the songs are written by Vairamuthu.

Tamannaah is currently shooting for That Is Mahalakshmi, the Telugu version of the Bollywood film Queen. The Telugu remake is being directed by Prashanth Varma, who made his directorial debut with Awe this year. The young filmmaker will be replacing filmmaker Neelakanta, who was initially roped in last year for directing the film.

Tamannaah, meanwhile, also has period flick Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, for which she has been learning Bharatnatyam. Her Telugu film Naa Nuvve with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram recently released.
