Did Anirudh Ravichander Copy Music From Another Artiste For ‘Kalyaana Vayasu’?

Shocking!

The last few days, social media has been flooded with the song ‘Kalyaana Vayasu’ composed by Anirudh Ravichander for Nelson David’s film Kolamaavu Kokila (CoCo). The song, with lyrics penned by Sivakarthikeyan, has clocked in over five million views.

The song features Yogi Babu’s character madly in love with the Nayanthara’s character. He watches her while she walks away and rues that he only wants to marry her and that he will wait for her. The video features him following her everywhere, imitating her actions, and profess his love for her in silence.

While the song is a massive hit, several people have pointed out that it’s a copy of another song – ‘Don’t Lie’ by Sannan! The hip-hop/rap song was released on YouTube last month and has a little over 7,000 views. Upon listening to the two, the similarity is fairly uncanny, with the beats and background score almost identical.

The composer is yet to comment or clarify on the same. The film is said to be a woman-centric one featuring the actress as a drug peddler. Reports suggest that the film is inspired by the American TV show Breaking Bad, but the makers have clarified in the past that is about an ordinary woman who finds herself in an unexpected situation.

On the work front, Nayanthara has a slew of films lined up, including director Siva’s Viswasam with Ajith Kumar, and Chiranjeevi’s period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. She also has one with filmmaker KM Sarjun, and Imaikka Nodigal with R Ajay Gnanamuthu. Aramm 2, the sequel to the political drama from last year featuring Nayanthara in the lead, will also go on floors soon.

She also a has project with her Velaikkaran co-star Sivakarthikeyan in the pipeline. The yet-to-be-titled project is being bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green. The film will be directed by Rajesh with whom Nayanthara worked in Boss Engira Bhaskaran.
