South Indian star Dhanush confirmed that neither he nor his family members have ever been a part of PETA. He also mentioned that he feels insulted to have received an award from PETA on turning vegetarian.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, he said, “A few years ago, PETA honoured me for being a vegetarian. I now consider it a grave insult. I regret it.” He was awarded the Hottest Vegetarian of the Year in 2012.
He also clarified that if anyone ever read anything that says his family members or himself are pro PETA, they are just rumors. Apart from this, he shared his thoughts about how bulls must be removed from the ‘performing animals’ category and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi mus promulgate an ordinance as early as possible to conduct Jallikattu in the State.
Concluding his statement, he praised the youth for protesting with grace, dignity and power.
