In a shocking incident, an 8-year-old girl from Chennai dies in a swimming pool right in front of her parents and her trainer during a summer camp in Mogappair East.  The JJ Nagar police told The News Minute that the 8-year-old, identified as Andrea, was rushed to a private hospital after she drowned, but was declared dead on arrival.

The girl was reportedly standing at the very edge of the pool when she unexpectedly lost control and fell into the water. Although the girl’s father and her coach immediately pulled her out, she was declared dead. The parents have not filed any complaint against the trainer. A case has been registered under CrPc 174 (suspicious death).

The death occurred because water had filled her lungs, a post-mortem report read as reported by The Times of India. Andrea had joined the classes about 11 days ago after she showed interest in swimming. Andrea’s father works as an associate director in the film industry and her mother works in an IT company.

However, the deceased girl’s uncle reportedly stated that if the 8-year-old had been given a proper first aid, she could have been saved.
