British television reports suggest that Vijay Mallya, the controversial business mogul has been arrested in London few minutes ago. He will be now taken and produced in the Westminster court.
A fresh non-bailable warrant was issued against him on April 12 for FERA violation. According to the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, Mallya was summoned multiple times and the warrant was issued for evading the same. According to Economic Times, Chief Metropolitan court had also observed on November 4 that Mallya had no intention to return to India.
Recently his famous Kingfisher Villa was sold to actor Sachiin Joshi for a whopping 73 crores. More information is awaited on Mallya’s arrest at the moment.
